I will explain these changes by using my page as an example. I frequently make updates to my profile to add content for potential clients.

1. Website
How to lead your visitors to the most important information on your website:
The most common way to display your website is in the basic setting, like how it is shown on right. But we can
use this option more efficiently. Go to ‘Edit profile’ and click edit ‘website’. The options are shown left.
Click on ‘Choose’ and select ‘Others’. Then write the title you want to use for the link in ‘Website title’ and set the link to this page (or subpage). You can create up to three links. This way, you can display links to several different pages of your corporate website.

You should take the best page (or subpage) for your workspace. The picture on the right shows the three links to my business website, which viewers’ attention to three different(sub) pages.

Click ‘save changes’ and it looks like this.

2. Twitter
In order to make your LinkedIn profile more optimised for search engines, it’s best to display different types of content and to update your profile frequently. One possible change is to connect your Twitter account with your Linkedin page. This simple connection gives you the advantages of re-purposing your social media content without having to re-post the information on LinkedIn.
This video shows how to connect the two accounts.
I’ve connected my personal Twitter account with Linkedin, because I want to select the most relevant tweets from my Twitter channels to show on Linkedin.
To show these updates on LinkedIn, I re-tweet the tweets from the blurGroup channels with my personal account. One of the advantages of re-purposing this content is that you provide your Twitter followers on your personal Twitter account and your page viewers on Linkedin with ‘high content tweets’. All of this just by simple re-tweeting a blurGroup tweet from your personal twitter account.

3. Video
People love videos! Here’s how you can embed a video on your LinkedIn profile.
When you’ve inserted the video, it will be shown at the bottom of your page.
Watch this youtube clip to see how to insert a video (you’ll need to create a Google Docs account in order to insert videos).
You can insert presentations as well. Take the video which correlates your target audience or sector.
These three ways, although are the top quick fixes to your LinkedIn account, are only a handful of ways that you can optimise your content. If you know of an easier or more efficient way to make your LinkedIn profile more optimised, please let me know.
