It’s the end of the week and time for the Friday5. Our weekly mini blog presents Holly Lee, Physical Therapy Student who is a member on our Exchange.
ONE: Holly, you’re studying physical therapy and at the same time work in Graphic Design, Marketing and Writing. How did this happen?
I started off very interested in graphic design in high school, so I chose to pursue it in college. Once there, I took a liking to biology and anatomy through a general education course. I decided I would switch my major after my sophomore year and focus on physical therapy (I’m an athlete also, so that helps). I continued to do side work with graphic design and some self-teaching led me to dabble my feet in the world of social media. I would say that physical therapy will be my job, one that I truly enjoy, but the creative side in me will always want to continue pursing graphic design, marketing and writing. It may sound like I live a double life, but I just enjoy spending my spare time learning more about design and marketing. Which, I think, in the end will only benefit me as a person and a brand!
TWO: One of your most interesting projects was a Social Media Branding project. What is the biggest challenge in Social Media Branding today in your opinion?
I would definitely have to say consistency. Falling off the wagon can damage your readership and relevancy. Google is always crawling and rating you, whether you want them to or not, it’s part of the internet scene. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with all the different facets of marketing, but I think it is incredibly important to keep up with social media. It’s the marketing of the present and future, so make sure you are feeding your audience fresh content and are reminding them who you are.
THREE: You’re skilled in Graphic Designing, Marketing and Writing. Do you think it is better to be a specialist or an all-rounder?
I would say it is better to be a master of one, than a jack of all trades, master of nothing. But in my opinion, some things you fall into and start to perfect tend to be things you are more passionate about. If you are passionate about what you are doing, you’ve broken away from any limitations that may exist.
FOUR: You travel a lot and write about it in your blog. What was the most exciting place that you have visited?
I would definitely say Paris, France. If I could move there I would. It’s such a different atmosphere. So romantic and busy.

VE: … and what are your tips for a safe journey?
Definitely pack for everything. I always insure my flights also. Sounds like a waste of money but it’s definitely worth it if something comes up. Also, always keep a mini first aid kit. You NEVER know when you might need it.
SIX: Any travel guide you can recommend?
I really enjoy www.wickedgoodtraveltips.com. They have a little bit of everything for everyone there!
